   Hydrocephalus treatment

Hydrocephalus results from the accumulation of fluid, also called Cerebro-Spinal Fluid, inside the brain. One of the possible treatments consists in the shunting of this fluid towards one cavity of the body. A valve as Polaris® from Sophysa can help regulate the flow of CSF in the shunt.

   ICP monitoring

Intra-Cranial Pressure is the reflection of the pressure exerted by the three components of the cranium, namely the brain, the blood and the cerebro-spinal fluid. Should it increase too much, it can prevent the adequate blood perfusion of brain tissues and provoke damages. In case of risks of increase in Intra-Cranial Pressure, an ICP monitoring system such as Pressio® from Sophysa, will provide the carers with continuous Intra-Cranial Pressure values. This will help to give the patient the adequate treatment with a view to preserve brain tissues and functionalities.

   Chemotherapy

During a chemotherapy, a regular access to the blood stream for the injection of medication, is required. You will be offered to be fitted with an access port like Soph-A-Port, which makes punctures much easier.
